It is one of the biggest national parks in India and was established in 1936 and is managed by the Uttrakhand Forest Department. This park is situated in Nainital district and is known the world over. It has a total area of 1288.32 sq. km. out of which 520.82 sq. km. area belongs to Corbett National Park, 301.18 sq. km. makes Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary and the rest 466.32 sq km. constitutes the reserve forest.

The park is drained by Ramganga, Sonanadi, Mandal and Palain rivers. Park is known for its rich flora and fauna. Park has animals like Wild Elephant, Tiger, Leopard, Jungle cat, Leopard Cat, Sambur, Cheetal, Hog Deer, Barking Deer, Goral, Nilgai and Wild Boar. Foreign tourists prefer to visit the park in winter season as during that time of the year more than 580 bird species can be spotted in the park. 520 out of which are native birds to the park and the rest more than 60 species are migratory birds.

Among reptiles, Gharial, Mugger Crocodile, Python, King Cobra, Turtles, Sal Forest Tortoise and Monitor lizard are main attractions of the park. Since it encompasses vast area, park is divided into various forest zones and you could be resting for the night and going for a safari in different zones. It is mainly divided into four tourist zone and corbett authority managed the jungle safari in these zones. the safaris are describe below:
